Towards Low-Cost Hyperspectral Single-Pixel Imaging for Plant Phenotyping

This study, published by the founding team of Photonics Open Projects, describes an affordable hyperspectral imaging prototype built from a modified commercial video projector and a spectrometer. It shows the approach can discriminate plant leaves from their surroundings and identify different health states within individual leaves, the research foundation that ONE-PIX and PRO-PIX are built on.
Single-Pixel-Based Hyperspectral Microscopy

This study combines single-pixel imaging with reflective-mode optical microscopy to retrieve high-resolution hyperspectral data from micrometer-scale samples, reaching a spatial resolution of 9.0 micrometers and a spectral resolution of 2.1 nanometers in the visible range. A statistical clustering algorithm identifies and classifies the spectral response of targeted regions in inorganic and biological samples.
Spatial-Frequency-Domain Hyperspectral Microscopy

Presented at SPIE Photonics Europe 2024, this work builds a reflection-mode hyperspectral microscope driven by the ONE-PIX reconstruction algorithm, projecting Hadamard patterns through a microscope objective. It retrieves hyperspectral data on printed circuit boards and biological samples such as algae, sampling spectral information over around 200 bands.
